In this talk I will give a brief overview of the most important Islamic mystics of Al-Andalus, from the 8th century Cordoban Ibn Masarra to the 12th-13th century Murcian Ibn ‘Arabi and beyond. I will introduce the most salient points of their thought, beliefs and practices, and how they are thought to have influenced aspects of Spanish society, literature and philosophy well after the (Re)Conquista. I will also read some key poems and sing a few songs by some of the best-loved Andalusi mystics.
